Joining the AVC section

You can join the Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) section of the Centrica Savings Plan if you're currently a member of:

  • The Centrica Pension Scheme
  • The Centrica Retirement Income Section (CRIS)

You can join the AVC section of the Centrica Pension Plan Savings Section if you're currently a member of:

  • The Centrica Pension Plan (formerly know as the Centrica Management Pension Scheme)

You can join the AVC section of the Centrica Engineers Savings Plan if you're currently a member of:

  • The Centrica Engineers Retirement Income Section (CERIS)
  • The Centrica Engineers Pension Scheme (CEPS)

If you're not in any of the above pension schemes, then you're not eligible to join.

If you're already a member of the Centrica Savings Plan, you can already make additional payments - you don't need to join the AVC section separately. For more information, see the Centrica Savings Plan website.

The Trustee will not accept a transfer of your benefits from another pension scheme.

Investments can go up and down and the amount returned may be less than the amount paid in.

2. Decide how much to pay

It's up to you how much you pay in, and whether you make monthly or lump sum payments.

Paying a small amount more now could have a big impact on your future. Remember, you’ll get tax benefits on any payments you make up to the annual allowance.

When you become a member of the AVC section, you’ll have a number of investment options to choose from.
