Your investment options

It's your money - take control

Where your money is invested can make a big difference to what your pension pot will be worth - and to your lifestyle - when you retire.

So it’s important that you find out where your money is invested and what your options are.

Option 1. Stay in the low-involvement option - known as the Centrica Gateway Strategy

The low-involvement option is the Centrica Gateway Strategy. This is a lifestyle profile, which means that as you get closer to retirement, it will gradually and automatically move your money into funds which aim to prepare your pension savings for retirement.

This option has been chosen by the Trustee, with the help of its advisers, because they believe that it is a good option for most members as they build up their savings, and also takes into account the various different ways in which members may choose to take their benefits at retirement.

If you don't choose another option, this is where your money will be invested.

Pros:

  • You don't have to actively choose your investments

Cons:

  • It’s not suitable for everyone as it is not tailored to meet each individual member’s specific aims, needs or attitude to investment risk.

Option 2. Choose your own funds

If you want more choice about where to invest your money, you can choose from a range of investment options. The Trustee has chosen these with the help of its adviser.

They're not a recommendation but they've been selected to help you make your own choices more easily.

Pros:

  • You get control over where to invest your money
  • You can select a portfolio to match your needs and attitude to risk

Cons:

  • You will need to be more involved in managing your investments
